This section of the website is for the leaders to describe themselves to everyone out there in a short bio. It is designed to help people know their guild leaders in more than just a post in the forum or a voice on teamspeak.

I've always enjoyed being a member of the Shimmering Dawn. Rarely have we seen huge numbers in our ranks, and I prefer it that way - I like being in a guild that I know everyone's name and some things about them.
I'm a volunteer fireman (Lieutenant), a 911 dispatcher, insurance agent, but, most importantly of all, an ardent gamer who enjoys all styles of games, from single-player RPG's and shooters to gaming on a massive scale.
I have been a leader of the Shimmering Dawn guild since it was formed during the Vanguard days. I was also a leader in Sole Asylum during the Guild Wars days and the Medal of Honor days.
Many different games have come and gone, but our core group remains the same and is ever-expanding. Only true gamers can ever understand friendships casted in the online world. It's a truly unique friendship.

Many of the members have called me grandpa. As far as I know I am the oldest member of Shimmering Dawn.
As Twitch stated I joined during the Sole Asylum days. Guild Wars was my first MMO and I was in four or five other guilds before I found this crazy group. I don't think I could enjoy playing without these guys. We have differences but we always seem to get through them.
I am retired. From two jobs. I worked in the natural gas industry for twenty seven years and was forced into retirement. After a year of doing honey-dos I began teaching at the local community college. I was teaching four electronics courses, three process technology courses, five computer courses, and helping with an astronomy course. Teaching was the most rewarding job I've ever had, but working for a college was the worst. I retired from that after finding out that I couldn't play their type of politics.
I'm a Viet Nam vet with the scars and health problems to prove it. I was in the 1st Air Cav, Echo 2,5, heavy weapons, infantry. The unit was called Cruel Cheyenne. I have some great memories from those times but I wouldn't wish that type of combat on anybody.
Gaming is not my life but you'll see me on line most of the time. Right now I am running the Teamspeak server. If you have problems talk to me or Twitch. One of us should be able to help. Our ages range from sixteen to sixty so don't worry about finding someone who understands your problems or game style.
WELCOME TO THE DAWN.

Many of you I have knows for years and years. I know Kitt in real life we're friends/enemies. The first guild started by us was Malkavian Knights which belonged to the game Infantry. It was a wonderful game until Sony killed it.
A little while after, I started playing FPS games, mainly Medal of Honor. I joined the guild Green Beret at first then went on and made my own guild Sole Asylum. We like to say that Kittrell was in it there were once rumors that he was but noone is quite really sure. After MOHAA I took almost all my guild members into Joint Operations. Which was a wonderful game but was short lived because they don't allow you to make your own server.
Straight out of FPS games I moved Sole Asylum to Guild Wars. This is where we picked up Guru, one day in Lion's Arch. We became the biggest we ever were in this game. 10 Guild of almost 100 members each all named Sole Asylum to Sole Asylum X using the Roman numbers. This was a big mistake that I will never make again. You will hear several times from our leaders and members alike that we hate huge guilds and we prefer to be small because we like to know each other and be friends rather than just have numbers and people seperated into small group that they do stuff with we prefer to be one huge group. I disbanded 9 out of the 10 guilds which did cost me a lot of members but I believe it was the right thing to do.
We then moved on to Vanguard where we picked Kitt back up as an official member and changed our guild name to Shimmering Dawn. We had very high hopes for this game which were very quickly crushed. It was very unfinished and unlike anything that was promised. About the only thing good that came from there was some of the great new members we picked up that are still with us today.
Our latest game was Pirates of the Burning Sea. It was a good game at first. But in the end I could only join it and get bored after about 20 minutes of gameplay. I guess one reason is I love PvP and it just didn't really have that great of PvP. Either way we decided to leave the game. Unfortunatly on this move we did lose a couple of good members unlike the other moves. But you have to play what you like.
After that we took a break for a little while and just relaxed, which I found to be nice. But now the time has come upon us and another game is coming out everyone declares will be great, let us just hope they are correct so we may stay in it for the long haul. We have moved through a lot of games in the past and we are all tired from it, but I believe the reward will be great when we find the game that is worthy of our stay. I appreciate the ones who have stayed with us thus far, it only shows that a small guild truly makes friends that you will remember forever. Let The Dawn live on.
Now you know about my gaming life, let me tell you about my other secret identity... my real life... DUN DUN DUN.
I am twenty five or was when this was written. I am married with two children a three year old girl and one year old boy. As stated before I know Kittrell in real life since 7th grade. I have always played computer games but he started me on my first multiplayer game with Warcraft II. I am an Insurance Agent and run my own Insurance Agency, which allows me to work out of the house so you probably will see me a little bit more than most members, except Guru since he is retired. My biggest hobby is fishing. I currently have two jon boat I have turned into bass boats. If I am not online I am either taking care of my children or out fishing. I can't think of anything else but will add if I come up with something. I am glad to be back in another game with everyone and look forward to meeting the new members and making new friends.
"Long live The Dawn!"
